About Me

Amanda’s Cozy Corner

Curious Mind. Practical Hands.

Languages × Drawing × Chinese Medicine × AI × Life

Hi, I’m Amanda.

It’s actually a little difficult for me to introduce myself.

I have many interests, and at first glance, they don’t seem to have much to do with one another.

I’m teaching myself how to draw, and I also enjoy making things by hand. I study different languages, have regular language exchanges with friends from other countries, and I’ve also started creating my own Chinese-learning podcast.

Over the past year, I’ve also been studying Chinese medicine. At first, much of it was difficult to understand, but little by little, I began to see the philosophy behind it and started thinking more about the relationship between people and the natural environment.

At the same time, I’m also learning about AI and various digital tools. Whenever I run into a problem, I often find myself wondering:

“Could I make this myself?”

Eventually, I realized that these seemingly unrelated interests actually have something in common:

I like observing how something works, understanding it, and then trying it for myself.

🎨 Drawing & Handmade

I’m currently teaching myself how to draw.

Since I started learning, I’ve realized that although we “look” at things every day, we don’t necessarily observe them carefully.

An object isn’t simply one color. When the light changes, the colors we see change too. Even a tiny difference in a person’s expression can completely change the feeling it gives.

I wouldn’t call myself an artist yet. This space is more like a record of my learning process.

Some drawings turn out well, and some definitely don’t. But I enjoy keeping them all because they let me look back and see how I’ve learned and changed along the way.

I also enjoy making things by hand.

For me, there’s something deeply satisfying about taking an idea that exists only in my head and turning it into something real with my own hands.

🎙️ Language & Podcast

Languages have always been an important part of my life.

Chinese is my native language, and I also study English, Japanese, and Spanish. Through language exchange, I’ve met people from different countries and discovered many interesting cultural differences.

Sometimes a perfectly ordinary idea might be expressed one way in Chinese, while a Japanese speaker would say it in a completely different way.

Why?

I love digging into these little differences.

That’s also one of the reasons I started creating a Chinese-learning podcast.

I don’t want to share only Chinese vocabulary and grammar. Through stories, I hope Chinese learners can also discover:

How people in Taiwan actually speak, how they live, and how they see the everyday things around them.

🤖 AI, Chinese Medicine & Systems

Chinese medicine and AI are probably two of the least likely subjects to be placed side by side.

Yet they’re both fields that I really enjoy exploring.

As I’ve studied Chinese medicine, I’ve gradually realized that it doesn’t look at the human body in isolation.

Seasons, climate, food, emotions, lifestyle, and even the relationship between people and the natural environment are all considered together.

This way of thinking has opened up a new perspective for me.

AI, on the other hand, is an entirely different world.

I’ve started using AI for learning, organizing information, and vibe coding. I also use it to experiment with turning ideas in my head into things that can actually be used.

One is rooted in ancient knowledge; the other is a very new technology.

And yet both often lead me to the same question:

“How are all these things connected?”

A Little More About Me

In everyday life, I really enjoy figuring things out and doing things myself.

When I run into a computer problem, I usually research it first.

When something at home breaks, my first reaction isn’t always to find someone to fix it. Instead, I tend to look at it and wonder:

“Can I handle this myself?”

So my days can sometimes jump between completely different worlds.

I might spend the morning reading about Chinese medicine, the afternoon experimenting with AI, and the evening practicing drawing. The next day, I might be chatting with a Japanese friend and end up spending half the day researching something simply because I’m trying to explain a piece of Taiwanese culture.

And if something suddenly breaks at home—

well, I usually reach for the toolbox first.

I suppose that’s a pretty good description of me.

I love learning new things, and I love understanding the “why” behind them.

And once I understand something, I like to try it myself.

Welcome to Amanda’s Cozy Corner

I named this website Amanda’s Cozy Corner because I wanted it to feel like a small corner of my own.

It doesn’t have to be about only one subject.

There can be drawing, languages, life in Taiwan, Chinese medicine, AI, and whatever else I’ve recently become curious enough to investigate.

This website isn’t a record of a finished version of me. It’s a record of the process of learning, observing, experimenting, and living along the way.

If you’re learning Chinese, curious about everyday life on the island of Taiwan, or simply enjoy turning ideas into something real, I hope you’ll find something interesting here.

Welcome to my little corner. Take your time and have a look around.
